MEET RACHEL!

Rachel is an upstate NY gal who enjoys gardening and yoga. She is married to Dave and they have one son, Elias. She set out in life to be an English Teacher but ended up in food service; a career that suited her upbeat personality well. Dave hails from amusement parks and enjoys bourbon and whatever crazy stunts his son and wife talk him into. Most recently Rachel dove back into the realm of education as a part time teacher in the local High School Equivalency program. This was an unexpected yet awesome change and Dave has taken over most logistics within the businesses (they also own Lake George Popcorn Co).

Elias is a budding artist and musician who enjoys video games, swimming, archery, and riding his four-wheeler.

HOW IT STARTED!

Though Rachel has her Masters in Education, life firmly planted her in Restaurants in 2006. What was supposed to be a part time gig helping out in the family business ended up being the catalyst for her future career as a restauranteur. She moved up the ranks at her family’s pizzeria from delivery driver to owner. With the birth of their son in 2016 Rachel and Dave made the bold move to stay in restaurants but under a new name and business model. The hope was that this would allow them more time as a family. In 2022 they decided to take a break from restaurants.  Rachel spent 20 years deep in the trenches of restaurants and that is where Rachel’s Spice Co was born. Rachel is passionate about spices and how they can make food better with very little culinary know how. She finds it more rewarding to help someone to cook everyday at home than to make them a single meal. Because of this the focus of her blends is functionality, practicality, and flexibility.

HOW'S IT GOING?

Currently, Rachel and Dave own Rachel’s Spice Co and Lake George Popcorn Co.  Lake George Popcorn Co has been a fun seasonal venture that marries well with the spices and teas of Rachel’s.  Rachel and Dave hope to take their show on the road and open more locations in a warmer climate. And most recently Rachel’s has started offering a private label program, helping other businesses build their brand with amazing spices. There is a lot of inventory and know how involved in blending and this offering makes quality spice blends easier for any business to offer. More information can be found here. WHOLESALE INFORMATION
